Constance Petty's Baptism

Yesterday, Jeremy's new wife, Constance, was baptized in the Granada Hills chapel, Way Over Yonder in the San Fernando Valley. Dave and I, and Chad and Kristen and their boys, made the trek. I told Chad he recieved Bonus Genology Points for doing this.
Grandpa and Andrew
Grandma and Andrew.
Dave and I were hanging out in the foyer when I saw Chad and Kristen arrive. I went out to greet them and Andrew saw me. He charged up the steps, jumped into my arms and gave me a huge hug for such a little guy, patting me on the shoulders the whole while. Alex did the same: leaping up for a hug, but he buried his face in my shoulder and just held on. I'd travel miles for hugs like these. I said to Dave, that was worth the drive and we hadn't even had the baptism yet.
Alex's hurt head? He and the bench at their local library had collision, necessitating a run to the ER for some liquid stitches. No baths for a week.
The baptism was sweet with lots of good talks and music. Constance's children sang, as did her daughter. A special guest, Brother Perkins sang a beautiful hymn. The Primary President gave a good talk, as did the Bishop. I was especially touched by my sister Christine's testimony (Jeremy's mother) as she bore witness of the power of the Holy Ghost in her life, even in very difficult circumstances. Ah, yes. I cried. Afterwards we took pictures outside. Constance is in the green cap, and her brother, Tyrell (in the red tie and khaki shirt) joined us too. He and Dave had a nice conversation afterwards--turns out he works in Riverside, driving in from Los Angeles every day. When they had the fires last week, some people in their office took seven hours getting home from Riverside. Jeremy and Constance Petty family, along with Petty extended family. Emma flew in for this weekend. After this, the Pettys and Paughs were all headed to Disneyland for the day.

Jeremy and Constance Petty and their children: Kelvin, Ki'Anna and A'Lexus. Kelvin was also baptized by Jeremy.
And then our grandsons shot off steam before climbing back in the car for their nearly 90-minute drive home, climbing around on the banisters and walls and jumping off ledges.
