Washington DC • June 2011

I accompanied Dave last week to Washington, DC (he was on business) and saw some family: my sister Christine, Peter, Megan and Allie the Wonder Dog.

I wrote about what Christine and I did on my other blog, but here's a picture of us at the last moment, our faces a reflection in the glass pyramids by the Cascade Fountain at the National Gallery of Art. On Saturday morning, we headed up to Peter and Megan's (via the Metro) and they picked us up and took us to their house.  But first--a stop by where they work to take a look around.

Peter at his desk.

By his door, with his title.

Megan at her desk.

And the door, with her title.

Allie the Wonder Dog.

We went to a really good Italian restaurant in Rockville, then they drove us to our hotel near the airport.  Of course, the visit wasn't long enough, but Peter helped me with my blog troubles, we visited with Megan, and Ally did tricks.  I miss them already.

Visit to Arizona • June 2011

I drove this afternoon to Phoenix Arizona to help watch Brooke while Danielle (above) goes in for surgery for a hard and soft palate repair.  Her surgery is in the morning, very early, so I came today.

Last visit I was here, in every picture I have of Brooke (above) she was a blur.  A little older now, she'll stop and look at the camera while I snap a quick shot.

The next morning Brooke and I showed up at Barbara's, and she promptly went outside to Maddy's playhouse.

I am still photographing quilts.  Here's some candids from that session.

We also went to Costco, Target, picked up dinner from a local Thai restaurant.  We're staying at Barbara's house tomorrow all day. Except for maybe a run to Schlotzky's for a sandwich for lunch.  Hopefully Danielle will come home tomorrow from the hospital and we want to have a quiet house for her.  (Keep your fingers crossed.)
