Peter's Wedding--Friday Evening

Everything about Peter and Megan's wedding weekend begins with the rehearsal over at the reception/wedding sight, where we had a quick walk-through and met everyone.

Yay! Last child's getting married!
We gathered over at Max's Grill in Pacific Grove for an evening dinner. I had made them this quilt of sea and sand colors in honor of their wedding. Here they are reading the label.
Maddie likes it too.

Grandmother Sessions listens carefully to the conversation with Dave and Megan's grandmother, Joe-Ann.
Barbara and I had made place cards, which kept falling over. Oh well, the thought was good.
Brooke and her mother Kim.
David holds his daughter Maddie, while Kegan looks on (and looks tired--it was a long drive up from Riverside that day).
Kim, Brooke and Matthew, who took a lot of these photographs. The others are from Dave's or my camera.

The three brothers: Chad, Peter and Matthew It was a relaxed evening, and we enjoyed meeting Megan's family. It was also a lot of energy, given the young adults in the bridal party, and all the grandchildren moving around. Thanks to everyone for coming.

Moving Day in Irvine for Chad and Kristen

Moving Day for Chad and Kristen was late June, and boy were they organized. So, as grandma, my (assigned) job, which I gladly accepted, was to play with the boys. First up. Grandma corrupting the youth as she introduces them to Snap Pops. We had a good old time throwing them at the cement floor of their garage in the old place--great echoes. Andrew really caught on, because we when Dave and I took him to the grocery store with us to get lunch, he pointed right at the Snap Pop display. Of course, we bought two more boxes for them to play with.
Watching the movers--Grandpa Dave, Dad (Chad) and others--head into the elevator with stuff.
Alex wanted to take a photo of their nearly empty house. And Andrew.
Down the steps into the moving van.
We put the boys' car seats into our car and followed the moving van over to their new place--separate single-family dwellings, with courtyards, in a communal area. Lots of privacy and a garage right next to the house. We parked around the corner--Dave holds Alex's hand as they walk to the new place. Andrew helps me carry over the housewarming gifts--watering cans--because boy, do these kids like to water! So, still in keeping with my assigned job, Andrew and Alex and I head to their grassy communal area, and to the swings. This shot is them in front of their back fence; the patio and their house are visible in the background. I told Alex I was going to take his picture. He said, "Let me put out my wings." Guess what Andrew likes to throw? Moving's tough. We went back to the house and with Oreo cookie crumbs on his face, Andrew found a comfy place in the baby's room. Chad and Kristen, Dave and the moving crew. Andrew's settling in.
