Matthew arrived at our house late Thursday evening, bringing along Emilee and Megan. First things first on Friday morning: send Dad to a haircut. So Megan and Emilee and I went on a walk. First we found leaves for a leaf-rubbing book. We found worms in the gutter, and they discovered that worms, as Emilee told Alex later on the next day, "poop dirt!" What a discovery! On her hand! That made Megan scream! Who then picked up another worm!
On the way home from that adventure, we found a snail and we did the age-old snail trail picture with a dab of food coloring.
We let the snail go.
Lunch, then naps, then cookie making with Grandma Elizabeth.
And Dad.
We packed up the cookies the next day (Saturday) and headed down to Orange County to see Chad and his family. Kristen was off to a baby shower, so we all went to do a couple of errands, followed by lunch at Wahoo's Fish Taco. (I love that place.) Back to their apartment and the only boy that helped us frost the heart cookies was Andrew. He liked it.
Sunday morning, and they're getting ready to leave, but first! Doing orange juice with Grandpa Dave. Apparently Emilee has graduated to Having the Knack, and so doesn't really need Grandpa's help.
They left after breakfast. Come again!
