Barbara's Visit (continued)

First off, today is Peter's birthday. In honor of this, I posted this picture to illustrate not only Peter's many hidden talents, but also to say that we're head-over-heels crazy for this kid, who is witty, funny, erudite, loves kids and dogs and his Megan and takes time out of his busy life to get together with friends as well as call his Mother.
Happy Birthday, Peter!
Now back to the visit from Barbara. One thing I noticed from this visit is how the days kind of blur together. You get up, play with the kids, get the breakfast, do something, maybe do a little shopping, lunch, quiet times with naps for the Mom and Maddy, do something else, dinner, baths, bed. Repeat. So, I'm not attempting to categorize events chronologically here. We did go to the park a couple of times, and we hung out a lot. And played. One of the park days, Keagan and I walked home. Cartwheel! I never could do these as a child. I should have done more push-ups or pull-ups or chin-ups or something to get more strength in my arms. But then, our physical education consisted of minimal windmill sort of things for a few minutes, then "go play" uttered by the teachers on playground duty that day. When I saw Matthew and Kim with their girls at the roller skating rink on their blog, it also reminded me I couldn't roller skate either. I chalk that up to the metal roller skates that required a skate key to collapse or expand to the foot size. Okay okay. It was also my general clutziness on those rolling platforms that contributed to the short-lived attempt to do that item as well.
I loved how the sun made her blonde hair glow.

Baths that night.  I didn't take any of Keagan to protect her little seven-year old privacy, but Maddie was fair game. Riley didn't want a bath that night, so he wasn't in here either.

I'm not sure what's more fun, an upside-down Peter or his pants. Well, little Maddy trumps them both, and Keagan wins the talent award.
