Elizabeth Visits Barbara and Family

I traveled via airplane on the weekend of October 24th to see Barbara and family. We were trying to squeeze any value we could out of the already-purchased, but then canceled and never used ticket. Let me just say I am NOT a fan anymore of Orbitz. Okay, for research, but I'll call the airline and book it directly. Luckily this little face (among others) was waiting for me when I stepped into the Flagstaff airport.

I actually took this photo later than night, but this is how Madilyn looked to me then.

A side view of those chubby cheeks of little Maddy, silhouetted by her mother's patrician profile.

Barbara and I walked around Flagstaff on Friday morning, went to lunch at a Thai place (enjoyed Pad Thai and Tom Ka soup) and went to Target, where I bought Riley a "helicopter gun." It was a hit that afternoon, the weather summer-like, as we shot it off into the air on their cul-de-sac.

I think David likes it too.
Climbing on the high voltage box, just for fun, and reaching for the sky. Do I know why Keagan's holding her nose? No clue, but I thought it was great to get it on film. She's grown so much since I last saw her. Her favorite outfit is a leotard and stretchy dance pants.
Dinnertime hors d'ouvres: rice snacks.
On Saturday, Barbara was in charge of a giant craft experience for the ward: Super Saturday. David had a little of that here at the house, building a desk for Keagan's doll. Just. Like. That.
She painted it pink.

One of the 19 crafts she organized: WITCH letters.
What's up, Grandma?

Smiles all around.
Three-generation. Keagan and Riley are dancing and singing around just under the view of the camera, trying to get Maddy to smile. Oh, she's smiling. . . and looking down at them.
Daughter and Mother.
Keagan in a soulful pose.
Now she's smiley. There's a tendency at this age to clench the teeth in a forced grin, and I told her No Smiling. Just lift up the corners of your mouth and then she started giggling and I snapped it.

The happy family! Thanks for a great visit.
